Wonderland began in the 1970’s selling back issue comics at collector shows and conventions. In 1980 they opened their first store in Rochester, New York. As the years have passed, they have evolved from a full service comic book shop to a family orientated store that also features a large selection of books, games, fun stuff for kids, and science and nature items. Owner Wayne Nellis has maintained this mission since the store's opening.

While striving to diversify and make their store an enjoyable place to visit for every family member, they haven’t forgotten their roots, so they continue to offer a large selection of back issue comics and archival supplies for the collector, and stock a full line of new releases weekly.
